How the conversion works
UK cup sizes use double letters (DD, FF, GG) that European sizes do not, so the same cup has a different letter on each side of the Channel. The band converts from inches to centimeters in steps of five. This converter translates a UK size to the matching EU size for ordering from continental retailers.
From DD upwards, a UK cup letter is one letter behind the EU one: UK DD is EU E, UK E is EU F, and UK F is EU G. The band follows the same rule as US sizes: multiply by 2.5 and subtract 10.
Getting the right fit
Cup letters are only meaningful in combination with the band. If you are unsure of your size, measure under the bust for the band and over the fullest part of the bust for the cup, and compare against a brand's chart. A well-fitting bra should be snug on the loosest hook, with the band level at the back.
Frequently asked questions
What is a UK 34DD in European sizing?
A UK 34DD is an EU 75E. The band 34 becomes 75, and UK DD matches EU E.
Are these size conversions exact?
No. Clothing and shoe sizes are conventions rather than measurements, and every brand cuts its garments a little differently. Treat the result as a reliable starting point, then confirm with the retailer's own size chart and customer reviews.
What should I do if I am between two sizes?
Compare your body measurements against the brand's chart. If you are still undecided, choose the larger size for a relaxed fit or if the item does not stretch, and the smaller size if the garment is stretchy and you prefer a snug fit.
